Load the program, and select the 'Open Generic ASCII Text File(s)...' option under the 'File' menu.



When you select one of the data files you have obtained, you will see the import options dialogue box, select the options as shown below and click 'OK'.



After the import has completed, you will see a warning dialogue box, don't worry just click 'OK'.



Because the generic ASCII files do not contain the projection information, you must load them in a separate file. On the 'Select Projection' dialogue box, click on the 'Load from file...' button.



Now select the projection file that you unzipped with the example or purchased files.



You will now see on the 'Select Projection' dialogue box that the options have changed, to 'Transverse Marcator' projection, and 'Ordnance survey 1936' Datum settings. Click 'OK' to continue.



The data should now be loaded correctly.
