Using aerial photos in reports & documents
An overview
The simple fact is that aerial photos, when included in reports or other documents, help give the reader more information about an area, perhaps a property, street or piece of land, than words or even traditional mapping alone.

With our digital aerial photos it is easy to both obtain the area you want but to also put it into whatever documentation you want. It is also easy to edit or add other information on to the image – perhaps annotating the aerial photo with placenames.

The options
  • If you just want aerial photos of just one or a few areas, the best option is our digital aerial image service imagexpress™.
    Postcode Town/village
    Streetname Landranger ™
    East / northing Motorway jct.
    e.g. RG27 8NW
  • For higher volume usage, we offer an automated service called imagexpress direct™. This is particularly suited to situations where many hundreds or thousands of areas are likely to be required for inclusion in documentation, perhaps with complementary mapping. STL Professional services are the largest comprehensive legal services company in the UK, specialising in environmental reports amongst many others. These reports enable the customer to obtain an indepth insight into the local environment. For example, the reports show if there is any contaminated land or subsidence problems nearby and are used for tasks like site surveys.

Using Getmapping’s imagexpress direct™ service, every report now incorporates an aerial photograph centred on the area concerned. This has made a big difference, as Alan Thorogood STL’s CEO explains:

"Feedback from our clients regarding the incorporation of aerial photos in our property searches has been very positive - the photos provide an attractive and clear guide to the site assessment, route planning and surrounding land use of any property in England and Wales."
