Forget traditional contour mapping! New radar technology allows for contour mapping with digital rendering of geographic contours. Contour maps available from Getmapping provide accurate geographical elevation measurements using advanced radar system technology and digital Ordnance Survey data.

This data is available in a variety of formats:

•NEXTMap Britain includes digital contour mapping data posted every five metres and has a nominal vertical accuracy of 1.0 metre.

Contour lines are a way of representing height and structure on a flat map. In real life the landscape is full of 3D features like hills, valleys and farmland. In order to give this added realism, Getmapping have also combined the aerial photography and height data to create 3D fly-throughs.
