Height Data
Getmapping has a range of height data suitable for use by Local Authorities, Government Agencies, plus private sector engineering, environmental and planning consultancies.
In recent years the advent of new sources of height data available at different accuracies and price bands has meant huge choice for professionals.
In 2007 Getmapping launched a DTI co-funded Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) with Bath Spa University, GeoSense and SCS to create a new method of producing height data from our own stereo aerial photography. It has always been possible to create highly accurate height data from vertical aerial photography but it was time consuming and expensive to carry out. However as a result of the KTP project new workflows have refined and speeded up the process to deliver the best possible balance between accuracy and cost.

In the early 2000s Intermap captured the whole of the UK using its own Radar technology. The groundbreaking survey for the first time provided a viable up to date alternative to older height data products from the national mapping agency. Click here for more information on Intermap Height Data.
